n Summer 2012, Fairmont Summer Programs set sail for "Treasure Island" with over 1,500 students.
Fairmont's Summer Program is comprised of three types of programs: Summer School, Summer
Camp, and Enrichment Workshops--all flexible programs enabling students to participate in a
variety of academic and experience-rich options.
Summer school for early childhood, elementary, and junior high students is a grade-level
readiness program that helps the students prepare and gain confidence for the
upcoming school year. At the high school level, specific subject courses are
offered for-credit and enable students to use the summer to advance.
In 2012, more students attended Fairmont Summer School than ever
before.
Fairmont's summer camp program is accredited by the
American Camp Association and focuses on developing
confidence in our campers through hands-on activities.
Program areas incorporate art projects, science experiments,
cooking, and sports activities, music exposure--and a lot of
fun and games too. A new component introduced in 2012
was "Thursday Theme Days" which encouraged campers to
dress up and have fun at camp! Nearly 70% of Fairmont
Summer Programs participants attended summer camp.
