2012 Alumni Conversations & testimonials For Fairmont Private Schools' President David Jackson, keeping in contact with alumni is a priority and one of the most rewarding parts of his job. In 2012, Mr. Jackson called every alumnus/ae from the last five years personally on his or her birthday to send his regards and to hear about their journey after graduation. Here are some of the dynamic conversations that emerged in 2012: Alyxandra S. (Class of 2008) graduated from the University of California San Diego (UCSD) in three and a half years and is currently attending Chapman University for her masters degree. She credits graduating in under four years to her participation in the Medical Magnet program at Fairmont Prep. She is excited to start an internship program with the U.S. State Department in the spring. Caroline S. (Class of 2007) received a Fellowship Scholarship to the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine where she currently attends. Caroline scored in the 99th percentile on her GMAT test, and she gives a great deal of credit to her Fairmont education for preparing her to succeed. Y HAPPY BIRTHDA THDAY HAPPY BIR James K. (Class of 2011) is currently attending UC Davis. In his words, Fairmont was challenging, but I was well prepared for college. James is doing extremely well and is the Assistant Design Director for the school newspaper The California Aggie. "This year my family decided to enroll our daughter at Fairmont Private Schools. The school was recommended to us by our good family friends. We were looking for a more challenging and hands-on education for our daughter. We wanted to see our daughter improve her learning habits and gain skills to be able to study independently from home. It is obviously difficult for a child to adjust to a new school, but at Fairmont she felt very comfortable and we could see her improving instantly. She is able to have a different relationship with her teachers than at any other school. At Fairmont she is studying in a challenging yet friendly and overall stimulating environment. As a parent I feel very welcome and well-informed about my daughters progress at school. The education at Fairmont provides students with the fundamentals they need to successfully transfer to the high school level. I will recommend Fairmont to any parent looking to improve their childrens overall education and enroll them into an environment where learning becomes fun for the whole family." Ekaterina Gordeeva Fairmont Parent & Olympic Champion Figure Skater Fairmont focuses on empowering all learners. They are dedicated to providing all students with the educational, social and technological skills needed to successfully experience and contribute to the world around them. The academic rigor at Fairmont is hands down the best. My daughter was reading words in Pre-K and by Kindergarten, she was reading chapter books. She is now in 2nd grade, reading at a 4th/5th grade level." Fairmont Parent, Historic Anaheim Campus (Via Yelp.com) "Fairmont is a wonderful school. The students go on to excel in their high school classes with nearly all being accepted into AP classes as well as skipping the beginning year(s) of Spanish. The students are always ahead of their new classmates in high school in their core subjects. All students have the opportunity to join a sports team, perform in drama productions, enter art contests, compete in Academic Pentathlon and Debate. There is a Character Counts program, which helps students understand the importance of being a person of integrity. The small campus allows for emphasis on the individual learner. The teachers are caring and work together to ensure the success of each student."
