T
he Warriors skated to victory in the D-1
championship of the Anaheim Ducks High
School Hockey League, besting powerhouse
teams like Orange Lutheran and Santa Margarita
Catholic High School, and earning an invitation to
compete for the state title.
Two new CIF sports, golf and cross country,
were added last year, while Fairmont Athletic
Academy launched a new program for elite
equestrian riders.
Significant investments were made in the athletic
facilities at SJC. The weight room underwent a
total remodel and a new training and recovery
center was created for our athletes. But the
flagship project of the year was the addition
of three state-of-the-art sand volleyball courts
which officially opened with a ribbon-cutting
ceremony, led by three-time Olympic gold medal
winner Misty May-Treanor, over the summer.
The 2022-23 athletic year at Fairmont
SJC was one for the record books.
The boys soccer and basketball teams
seized the school's first-ever league
titles and represented the school for
the first time in CIF play. Both teams
boasted their league's Player and
Coach of the Year.
