Visiting student and educator groups returned As global travel restrictions and border closures came to an end in 2022, Fairmont International welcomed back visiting student groups to California for the first time since early 2020. Fairmont's longtime partner, LOY International Education from Seoul, brought elementary and middle school students to the Historic Anaheim Campus in summer 2022. Taipei's Zhong Zheng Senior High School, with whom Fairmont has partnered since 2017, also brought students to the Prep Academy for an American Studies course in the winter. Coming to Fairmont in the US is integral to how FIS works with schools abroad. Fairmont educators modeled global-mindedness HAC teachers Mindy Perkins and Leslie Spinella built bridges between their Fairmont students and those at Safari School in Taipei. Students exchanged letters, videos and art throughout the year, helping students on both sides of the Pacific to learn more about each other and how school works around the world. Global-mindedness begins early at Fairmont! Fairmont educators in the US helped FIS' team provide professional learning opportunities for teachers and counselors from our partner schools. As students and teachers came to California, so too did Fairmont educators resume travels to partner schools in Asia to support the FIS team's work. N ow in its 14th year, Fairmont International School (FIS) extends the opportunity of a Fairmont education to students around the world by partnering with schools in mainland China, Taiwan and South Korea.
