A
lthough the season was foreshortened,
Fairmont athletes made the most of their
time on the field and court this year.
Fairmont Prep won league
championships/co-league
championships in boys and girls
basketball, and in boys soccer.
All three teams advanced through multiple rounds
of post-season CIF action, as did girls soccer. Several
Huskies also received individual awards for their
outstanding play.
High school athletes were cleared to resume
workouts in September. Abiding by the safety
guidelines set by federal and state health agencies,
Fairmont's "Return to Athletics" protocols and
procedures ensured the safest possible environment
for our student-athletes and coaches.
Fall saw the launch of an innovative new program at
our San Juan Capistrano campus. Fairmont Athletic
Academy paved the way for middle school elite
athletes to receive training, conditioning and sport-
specific skill-building, all during the course of their
regular school day.
The breadth of Fairmont's sports offerings also
expanded in 2020, with the addition of wrestling and
ice hockey programs.
