ACADEMIC
DECATHLON
This year, our decathlon team won both team awards in
the Academic Decathlon JV competition. Typically the
team would include an additional student, but even with
one member short the students pulled together to win,
achieving a feat that is unheard of in decathlon.
One of our team members, Felix Teng, won medals
in every single category, taking home four 1st place
medals, two 2nd place medals, and five 4th place
medals. We could not be prouder of our decathletes
and their hard work.

2019 SAFETY POSTER
CONTEST WINNER
Michelle W., 8th grader from Fairmont Historic Anaheim,
won the 2019 CASTO (California Association of School
Transportation Officials) Safety Poster Contest for all
of California, a testament to her talent and passion for
safety. Michelle and her family were invited to a banquet
at the State conference where she received her honor.
"Michelle is the type of art student that every teacher
dreams about: hard worker, turns everything in on time,
never complains, naturally creative, and always seems
to smile with a helping hand," says Michelle's art teacher
Mrs. Gormin.
