STUDENT
SPOTLIGHT
It changes the way you view people and people who
are different from you. [Fairmont provides] a global
perspective, and not just in your classrooms — it's in your
relationships with friends, too. Nothing has made me
more patient and more understanding than having that
community.
A member of the Fairmont Prep Class of 2018, Ellie Gibbs has attended
Fairmont since she was in preschool and is grateful to be part of such a
unique and supportive community. Class president during her freshman
through junior years and now president of the Associated Student Body
(ASB), Ellie has found value not only in the opportunities she's been
given but also in developing the skills to learn independently and take
initiative.
In addition to leading ASB, she is part of the Advanced Science and
Engineering Program (ASEP) and has been involved in debate,
school musicals, tennis, and soccer throughout her Fairmont
journey.
Ellie hopes to continue her education at Yale University,
Pomona College, or Wellesley College and study
environmental science and environmental engineering.
Because of the experience she has had at Fairmont
Preparatory Academy and being able to interact with
students of all different backgrounds in her classes, she
knows she is well-equipped for a successful future.
