Fairmont Prep Junior Edgar Chin received the honor of academic all- american from uSa Swimming in august 2014. Edgar had a stellar sophomore year in the pool last season where he won his first CiF Division 4 Championship in the 100 y breaststroke. by recording a qualifying time in a uSa sanctioned event and earning above a 3.5 g.P.a. in the classroom, Edgar was recently bestowed with the academic all-american title. Edgar attended elementary school and junior high at the Fairmont historic anaheim Campus. "We are very proud of Edgar's achievement," said Robert mendoza, headmaster of Fairmont Prep. "he is a prime example of our many students who balance the rigors of our academic programs while displaying an equal amount of time and commitment in our athletic programs." EdGaR CHin WinS all-a mERiCan TiTlE 2014 SPORT HIGHLIGHTS PREP STuDEnTS Sign WiTh iv y lEaguE SChOOlS On november 12, 2014, Fairmont Prep seniors Samantha Clement and kristin Chung signed letters of intent to continue their academic and athletic endeavors with two ivy league schools. Samantha, an alumna of the anaheim hills Campus, has had a stellar basketball career on the court for the lady huskies. She is a two time all CiF performer and the returning San Joaquin league mvP. Samantha will continue on to Cornell university. "Fairmont provided the right mix of rigorous academics and challenging athletics necessary for achieving my goal of attending an ivy league school," said Samantha. "administrators, teachers, and coaches helped me every step of the way." kristin, an alumna of the historic anaheim Campus, is an all-County performer on the links. She is a three-time academy league Champion in girls' golf and won the CiF northern Division Regional Championship in 2011. kristen plays golf in the uSga girls' amateur as well as the uSga Women's amateur. She will matriculate to Columbia university in the fall of 2015. "Fairmont prepared me for this amazing opportunity to attend one of the best universities in the nation," said kristin. The historic anaheim Campus junior high girls' volleyball team completed an undefeated season, taking home the Tri-Way league championship trophy on Thursday, november 6, 2014. led by Coach katy kitchen, the lady Panthers defeated Orange County rival Pegasus in two straight games, 25-16 and 25-17, in the championship match. "The girls demonstrated that doing your best and putting your heart into the game are the keys to success," said Coach kitchen. "This is not a team made up exclusively of volleyball players. Their main interests include other sports and academic pursuits, such as speech and debate.
