The Orange County academic Pentathlon is a one-day, five-subject academic competition for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students hosted by the Orange County Department of Education. Each team is comprised of students with varying grade averages (three a students, three b students, and three C students). Teams compete in written communication, literature, mathematics, science, and social science. Students who earn high honors in the school science fair move on to compete in the Orange County Science and Engineering Fair (OCSEF) against over 450 Orange County students.
