A Message from Our President & CEO S ixty years ago, Fairmont was founded on the idea that there is no limit to what a child can do if given the opportunity to excel. Over the years, Fairmont has grown to include three P-8th grade campuses, a premier college preparatory high school, an online/blended learning division, and an international division educating students as far away as China, Korea, and Vietnam. We've changed through the decades, trading chalkboards for interactive whiteboards and composition notebooks for iPads, but we remain driven by the belief that children can do amazing things. David Jackson President Rob Chandler CEO On every page of our thirteenth annual Report Card, you will find evidence that extraordinary opportunities equal extraordinary results. This publication was created to showcase our students' outstanding academic, artistic, athletic, and extracurricular accomplishments; share standardized test scores and comparisons with other high achieving public and private schools; and illustrate Fairmont's commitment to excellence year after year. On our 60th anniversary, we are prouder than ever to celebrate the accomplishments of our remarkable Fairmont community. This year's Report Card brings together Fairmont's top academic, artistic and athletic achievements starting in early childhood and continuing through high school. We are pleased to report that 87 percent of Fairmont's 165 graduates from the Class of 2013 were accepted to top 100 colleges and universities. Of the graduates who started with Fairmont in preschool or kindergarten, 100 percent were accepted to Top 100 colleges and universities. Fairmont's winning streak in the Orange County Academic Pentathlon continues with our 21st consecutive year of placing first in this annual competition. Students won over 20 local and regional art awards and four Fairmont sports teams went undefeated all season, finishing as league champions. We are very proud of the progress Fairmont has made these 60 years in preparing our students for success in colleges of quality and challenging them to become exemplary citizens of a global society. Credit goes to Fairmont's teachers and administrators whose commitment to excellence is reflected in every statistic and to the students whose hard work and talent appears on every page. For 60 years, our families have entrusted Fairmont with educating their children. What an amazing journey it has been! Sincerely, David Jackson Fairmont President Robertson Chandler Fairmont CEO www.fairmontschools.com | 2
