Advanced Placement by the numbers* Fairmont Preparatory Academy's Advanced Placement (AP) program has been recognized by the College Board as having one of the highest student success rates in the state of California in math, science, and technology. Unlike many other schools, Fairmont does not limit the number of AP courses that a student can take and many students begin taking AP courses as early as 9th grade. 2013 AP Exam Scores AP tests are scored on a 5 point, numeric scale: 5 being the highest and 1 the lowest.
