The campus celebrated the accomplishments of its orators, with one student taking top honors for a poignant message about "belonging" in the OC Families in Action Youth Speech Contest. Historic Anaheim also boasted great successes at the Modified Parliamentary Debate National Championship, fielding three Distinguished Teams. Students also left their mark in several STEM competitions: Orange County Science and Engineering Fair — 12 awards, including three first place; California Science and Engineering Fair - three awards; and Thermo Fisher Junior Innovators Challenge - five nominations. In a year where creativity flourished as brightly as academic success, Historic Anaheim etched its imprint on the arts. Nine students had their artwork displayed at the OC Arts4All Showcase, and another won the prestigious "We Are the World" international painting competition. Middle school drama students took center stage with their production of Everything You Wanted to Know About Your Teachers (But Were Afraid to Ask)—a comedy by playwright Jason Pizzarello, brought to life with added flair through original scenes penned by our Panthers. As an International Baccalaureate World School, "service as action" is woven into the fabric of student life. 2023-24 saw outreach and service projects — locally and globally — that supported sending a ten-year-old student from Uganda to school, donating to a women's shelter, protecting children affected by domestic violence, and feeding the hungry. This culture of commitment to humanitarianism led to one Panther being honored by the Carson Scholars Fund for his remarkable contributions to the community, along with his stellar academic achievements. Students weren't the only members of the Historic Anaheim community to receive high honors last year. Fifth grade teacher Ryan Clark was named one of the Top 25 Teachers in Orange County.
