ifteen VAPA students were
nominated for Orange County
Register's High School Artist of
the Year Awards in the categories of
Film and Television, Instrumental
Music, Fine Arts, and Theater. Together,
nominees represented the top 1% of all
upper-class student artists in the O.C.
One Husky achieved semifinalist status
for Cinematography.
Our theater department dazzled this year with two
unforgettable productions. The fall play, A Trip to the Moon,
set in the transformative summer of 1969, told a moving story
The Prep's already impressive Visual and
Performing Arts (VAPA) Department
was elevated this year by virtue of
its participation in ISP's Filmmakers
Program. Students collaborated to
produce a film that was entered into a
competition with nearly 50 other films
from ISP schools worldwide. One of the
school's entries earned the prestigious
distinction of being named a "Production
Standout Film." Film students also
received awards at the National Film
Festival for Talented Youth and the
Hollywood Guerilla Film Festival.
