W hen you're voted Best Private High School in Orange County and your Head of School is named one of Orange County's Top 5 Education Leaders by her peers, you know you must be doing something right! From the hallowed halls of the Ivy League to the creative corners of art schools, and many institutions in between, the Prep's graduates once again garnered an impressive list of college acceptances. The Huskies continued their winning ways in national and global competitions. Students in the Advanced Science and Engineering Program (ASEP) excelled at Engineering World Health's global bioengineering competition, earning first and third place for their biomedical healthcare solutions. In a separate competition, a team of ASEP students was selected as a finalist in the NASA Apps Development Challenge for their coding strategy which addressed real-world technical challenges facing space exploration missions. Schoolwide, the Prep received national recognition from College Board as a Gold member of the AP School Honor Roll. Coach Gabe Rusk was selected to the prestigious National Speech and Debate Association's Topic Committee. Under his leadership, debaters broke new ground in 2022-23, with individual speakers capturing all three top spots at the National Debate Coaches Association National Championship. The Prep was one of only ten schools in the country to qualify three or more teams for the National Tournament of Champions. The Academic Decathlon team earned a berth in the state championship, where they took first place in their division — all while competing two levels above where they were last year. On top of their team triumph, each individual decathlete took home at least one gold medal.
