Cognia accredits over 35,000 schools in 80 countries. Cognia accreditation is essential to Fairmont's work abroad as it brings international recognition and validates Fairmont's quality and strengths. On-going challenges related to COVID led the College Board to limit AP exam access in China in 2022. Nonetheless, students in FIS programs benefited from taking college-level AP courses in 12 different subjects, as well as participating in the AP Capstone program (which includes AP Research and AP Seminar classes). Preparation for college success is as vital to FIS as it is to Fairmont campuses in the U.S. College counseling is an important part of our programs, as we aim to match students with higher education paths that will allow them to pursue their goals. All students were admitted to schools ranked in the top 100, whether a world or U.S. ranking. FIS' graduating class of 2022 included 233 students who were admitted to over 210 colleges and universities, located in ten countries. While the majority of FIS students come to the United States for college, they were also admitted to schools in Australia, Canada, China, Japan, the Netherlands, Russia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Despite the challenges of attending high school during pandemic years, FIS students earned admission to some of the world's top colleges and universities including Oxford, Cambridge, many UC schools including UCLA and Berkeley, NYU, Berklee College of Music, California College of the Arts, the University of Toronto, McGill University and many more.
