A
lthough the season was abbreviated, Fairmont
athletes made the most of their time on the field
and court this year. The Prep won three league
championships — boys volleyball, boys basketball, and
girls golf — and shared the league title in girls basketball.
Our Huskies also fielded three League Players of the Year.
A total of eight graduates signed
letters of intent to play at their
schools, joining a very select group
(7%) who go on to compete at the
collegiate level. And three Prep
coaches, Alexis Price (girls golf), Phil
Lopez (boys volleyball), and Joedy
Gardner (boys basketball), were
named WAC Conference Coaches of
the Year in their respective sports.
Fall saw the launch of an innovative new program at our
San Juan Capistrano campus. Powered by The Treigning
Lab, Fairmont Athletic Academy paved the way for middle
school elite athletes to receive training, conditioning and
sport specific skill-building, all during the course of their
regular school day.
The breadth of Fairmont's sports offerings also
expanded in 2020-21, with the addition of wrestling
and ice hockey programs.
