W
e've long known that Anaheim Hills has
some of the best educators around.
But now, all of Orange County knows
it too! Mrs. Lerma and Mrs. Housley
were named among the Top 25 educators of 2020 by
Parenting OC. AH students got a shout-out of their own
in the spring, when dance-pop duo Koo Koo Kanga Roo
sent them a personalized message of congratulations
for a job well done in shifting to remote learning.
Our faculty went above and beyond to ensure that
students' social-emotional needs were met. Specialty
teachers offered to teach additional sessions during the
school day, allowing students the opportunity to enjoy
themselves and maintain a sense of community while
taking part in art and music activities.
The Cougar Crew continued to
lead the way for Fairmont with its
award-winning Speech and Debate
program. Even the shift to remote competitions
couldn't prevent them from taking top honors at many
events, including the OCDL Fall Scramble, where
AH claimed the Top 8th Grade Speaker Award (The
Hopkins Gavel) and the Top 7th Grade Speaker Award.
COVID called a "time-out" on the fields and courts in
2020, bringing AH's multi-season undefeated streak in
athletics to a temporary pause. Our Cougars are looking
forward to resuming their winning ways in 2021.
