Athletics
Fairmont students who participate in sports gain
the opportunity to learn transferable skills like
teamwork, leadership, time management, and
group dynamics. Students in 4th through 6th
grades participate in the Developmental Sports
League (DSL), while students in grades 6-8 may
participate in the Tri-Way League.
Athlete Spotlight
Fairmont Prep junior, Atin Wright (#5) averaged an
Orange County leading 25 points per game and was
the only player in the county to score at least 800
points this season. He helped lead the Huskies to
their first-ever CIF SS Championship and was named
the 4AA player of the year.
Atin also received the John R. Wooden High School
Player of the Year Award. The John R. Wooden Award
is given annually to the most outstanding men's and
women's high school and college basketball players
and is considered extremely prestigious.
Atin Wright and Coach Joedy Gardner, stood with living legends Kareem
Abdul-Jabbar (right) and Julius "Dr. J" Erving (left) both of whom are top
50 players of all time and are Hall of Famers.
