Fine Arts While academics may be the hallmark of a Fairmont education, students receive rich and varied instruction in the arts. Creativity is encouraged throughout the regular classroom curriculum, with students producing impressive artwork as well as original poetry and prose. Congressional Art Competition In May 2012, Fairmont Prep student Lubna Kabir received the overall First Place prize in the Congressional Art Competition. Her award, presented by Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez, included a $10,000 scholarship to the Art Institute of Orange County and a paid trip to Washington D.C. for Lubna and her parents. Lubna���s painting will hang in the Capitol in Washington, D.C. for a year. Additionally, Fairmont Prep student Krystyn Neisess earned the Second Place prize and a $5,000 scholarship. Junior kindergartner Brandon McCoy earned a Bronze Medal for his submission ���Picassa-Girl.��� High School student Kengo Tsuchiya also won a medal for his submission.
